Waterfront: Andy Tyler
On Wednesday last week I went to a talk given by Andy Campbell at the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic on the Falmouth Packet Archives. The importance of the Packet Service was such that after an initial period of private enterprise the Government was forced to take control via the Royal Navy, As a memorial to those who built and served the Empire the Packet Archive is a unique record of the period. The Packet Archive besides showing the link between Falmouth Bay and Falmouth Bay, Antigua, also shows the sacrifices made in achieving and maintaining that dominance.
