FP 24/4/1858: Falmouth Boat Club
Gentlemen disposed to co-operate in the Establishment of a Falmouth Boat Club, on principals likely to be popular, and calculated to procure a constant fund of amusement to the Town, are hereby respectfully invited to send their names and addresses under cover to the Secretary, Lake's Library, Falmouth, with a view to an early meeting and the nomination of a provisional Committee , etc.
April 23rd, 1858.
FP Sat. 22/1/1898: The Royal Cornwall Yacht Club being desirous of obtaining a more central position in the town, invite all persons having waterside premises to let, to communicate with the Secretary, Mr. J. R. Nicholls, as to the number and size of rooms, and rent required. [ Same issue: The AGM was held on Monday. It's credit balance is £204. What is greatly needed is a more central position for the club in the town, which would, it is believed, double the membership in the near future. Annual regatta fixed for July 22nd.]
FP 16/4/1898: Yachting Prospects at Falmouth
An attempt is being made to amalgamate the Falmouth Sailing Club with the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club. The RCYC… there are over 70 members attached to the club, and it is hoped that racing matches will be held every fortnight amongst the local yachts.

FP 13/8/1898: Port of Falmouth Regatta. A Splendid Success.
The Royal Cornwall Yacht club joined with the port of Falmouth Regatta Committee, contributing a handsome donation of £115 to the fund. Falmouth Sailing Club's floating pavilion did duty as a committee boat, and it was anchored a convenient distance from market Strand, on which sweet melodies were discoursed during the day by the Volunteer Artillery Band.

FP 7/4/1905: At Mr. N. S. Burt's yard at the Bar [R.S. Burt] a 28 ft quay punt designed by Mr. Harley Mead, son of Mr. J. Mead, is being built for Mr. F. C. Baddeley, who formerly owned the fine racer Whimbrel.
